New additions! – Varanus beccarii 0.0.3
Very exciting days in our little zoo!
On 02.07.2021 our long awaited baby varanus beccarii hatched!
We have just picked them up from the breeder, so from now on, we are working in completely unknown territory… We never had such small tree monitors before!
We will take photos of them later, as they are still getting used to their new environment and to us. For now, the most important thing is that they calm down, eat and drink and find their place.
We watch them quietly and we already know that each one has a completely different personality! While one of them hides and is barely visible, the other runs up and down and is curious!
Interestingly, they come from different parents, so they are very different in appearance… One is quite tiny and fragile (hatched from a tiny egg), while the others are twice as big…
Unfortunately, we haven’t seen them eat yet and they’re struggling with the rain, but we’re confident that they’ll soon settle in and grow into a huge tree monitor team!
